How To Get Rid Of Marionette Lines?

  • by

Marionette lines get their name from marionette string puppets, which are known for having split jaws so puppeteers can help them talk. The skin around your mouth is particularly prone to wrinkling because it’s thinner compared with the rest of your face.

These types of wrinkles tend to develop by your 40s, but you may start seeing signs of them in your 20s and 30s. Learn more about their causes and possible treatment options if you wish to help minimize their appearance.

How to get rid of marionette lines

While wrinkles like marionette lines are a part of the natural aging process, it’s possible to temporarily reduce their appearance.

Surgery for marionette lines

The only wrinkle treatment considered permanent is surgery.

A facelift surgically addresses the lower portion of the face improving mainly the cheeks and the nasolabial folds. A neck lift is most commonly performed at the same time in order to achieve a well-balanced facial rejuvenation for a cleaner chin and jawline definition. Often times, earlobes are also rejuvenated with earlobe reduction or repair for those experiencing aging or sagginess due to earring “wear and tear”. This surgical procedure is performed in an operating room typically under general anesthesia and may take between 4 to 6 hours to complete. We employs various facelift techniques, such as a SMAS facelift technique or a deep plane technique, to achieve the most natural looking result for each patient. Facial muscles are pulled taut, the tissues are adjusted and the skin is smoothed out to reveal a younger, refreshed face.

Recovery: Back to work 5-7 days, longer if your job is strenuous or requires physical activity

Cost: The price of a facelift varies depending on what needs to be done, whether it is a mini facelift or full facelift, and whether a neck lift is needed at the same time or not, as well as the anesthesia used (local vs. general). Typically, the cost varies from $15,000 to $20,000. Many times patients add-on additional procedures such as: upper/lower eyelids, fat transfer, temple lift, neck lift, etc.

Profound RF

Profound RF is an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure for the face and body. It combines radiofrequency energy with microneedling to tighten loose skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging by reinvigorating the body’s natural production of hyaluronic acid, elastin, and collagen, the building blocks that keep skin firm and elastic.

The treatment is most often performed around the mouth and cheeks, along the jawline to treat jowls, and on the neck. It can also be used on the body to fade scars and stretch marks, firm sagging skin, and diminish the appearance of cellulite.

Once they develop, the skin tightening benefits of Profound RF can last for about two years, though improvements in your skin’s texture may last longer.

You can prolong your results by using medical-grade skin care 421N.
